An app for managing multiple bank accounts

DakPay UPI by IPPB—which is short for India Post Payments Bank Ltd.—is a free finance app aimed at the Indian market. With it, you can check your bank account and make contactless payments anytime. However, as required by the app and the National Payments Corporation of India or NPCI, users are requested to enable their device’s location

DakPay UPI by IPPB also requires access to your camera and storage, so you can scan and save QR codes. Unfortunately, registration is a bit of a challenge due to the frequent display of session timeout errors

It lets you automate payment

A subsidiary of the Indian government’s Depart of Post, IPPB was founded in 2017, first serving customers living in the cities of Ranchi and Raipur before it opened more branches all over India. Thanks to DakPay UPI by IPPB, customers can initiate fund transfers via Account number and IFSC, also known as Indian Financial System Code, QR code, or Virtual Payment Address or VPA.

Built with convenience, the app allows you to set up an automated payment schedule, saving you time and energy from initiating manual transfers. Creating a schedule is easy as it only requires you to provide the amount, select a start and end date, and fill in the Create Mandate to and Frequency text bars. There’s also the option to inform your recipient or include a brief remark.

Apart from checking your current bank balance, you can also add multiple accounts, view your transaction history, and save beneficiaries. However, this app is far from flawless. For instance, there are instances when sent payments do not reflect on the recipient’s end, even if the transaction was successful. The occasional timeout errors and crashes and its unresponsive customer support also irk many users.

Expect technical issues

Like other banking apps, DakPay UPI by IPPB enables users to initiate contactless transactions with a tap of a button. Plus, if you have multiple bank accounts, you can manage all of them in this app, which is convenient. One of its key features is automating recurring payments, too, so you don’t have to perform manual transactions. Unfortunately, do expect session timeouts and crashes when using it.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.
